Sundays
10:00 Sunday School (all ages)
Ever wonder what’s in the Bible or want to talk about it with peers? Here’s your chance! Bible passages are read and discussed each week in order to help us ponder the wisdom of the Holy Scriptures and apply it to our lives. Kids classes enjoy crafts, snacks, and handouts. Teenagers have fun while exploring the Bible. Adults reap the benefits of informative Bible background and good fellowship.
11:00 Worship of God
In worship we seek to experience God, speak from our hearts to heaven, and listen for a message God has for us that day. We use prayer, music, community readings, and sermons to interact with God’s Holy Spirit. Our worship is mainly traditional, with praise choruses mixed in for passion, and a healthy dose of liturgy for focus and structure. Your presence will enrich our worship. All people are welcome. Come as you are!
Wednesdays
7:00 Bible Study & Prayer Meeting
First we share community concerns and spend time in prayer, both for ourselves and others. Then the pastor leads a Bible study discussion time. Topics vary from global needs, pop culture, spiritual maturity, relationships, and church missions. Questions and comments welcome!
7:45 Choir Practice
Do you enjoy music and singing? They you’re invited to sing with the choir. There are no musical or talent prerequisites, just enjoy making a joyful noise!
Once a month
Every 3rd Saturday, 10-11 am – Food Day
Times are tough, and we’re in this together! Hickory Rock wants to support our community because we try to grow the love of God, and love our neighbors as ourselves. We distribute food to anyone who needs some. Items are different each month but usually include a combination of meat, bread, canned goods, pasta, produce, and other items.
If you can’t come to a Food Day, you can call the church, make an appointment, and pick it up—or get some after our weekly Sunday worship, which you are always invited to!
Every 1st Sunday, 12:00 pm – Coffee & Snack Fellowship
It’s always good to make time for chatting and catching up. This is a chance to check in on how life is going, over a cup of coffee and a muffin. It is usually the 1st Sunday of the month (check the calendar to be sure), is free, and informal.
Every 3rd Sunday, 3:45 pm – Baptist Women
On the 3rd Sunday of each month, all women are invited to plan, dream, and think of creative ways for our church to put God’s love into action–in our community and around the world. They plan collection drives, events, and yard sales to raise money and items to help people in need.
